I’ve finally found a clean 2008 135i in manual with 75k km. Price is ok and the condition is amazing (owned by a local dentist). Cons are it’s CCC Idrive and not a fan of cream interior leather. What I’m finding hard to justify is spending $23 grand (aus) extra from my 2005 dc5 type S which has done 150,000km. Age wise only a few years apart, similar interior, I have more infotainment with my Sony head unit. Both have leather and sunroof. Mine has 5 cupholders vs the bmw 1. Interior quality is something I’m really big on.
Insurance costs are actually less for the bmw. Future value for mine seems to be holding. I have a mortgage, but a decent job. The bmw does have cruise control and is much more comfy whereas mine is now very tailored for autocross. Opinions?
Reasons for changing are basically I want a change after 5 years and want to try rwd for a while.

What does CCC Idrive mean?
First gen Idrive is awful, second gen was excellent.
From my experience, I would say at least take it for a drive. I went from a WRX to a 335i and it was a night and day difference. Everything just worked -better- in the BMW. (Of course, I felt similarly when I then went to an S4)
Also, I was coming from a Subaru, so there aren’t many ways to take a step -back- in interior quality. (FD: I think Subaru has some of the best interiors)

Step 1: Ship the RSX to me in Canada
Step 2: Purchase BMW.
Step 3: HOON!

All things considered, it comes down to how much better does the BMW drive and just that justify the increase in cost to you.
Personally, I like the BMW. This isn’t an objective opinion because I haven’t driven either cars lol

I drove both, The BMW is more tank like and has all the torque. Mine makes lots of noise and understeers and skips around the road but that’s fun as well. Both are fun in different ways. but obviously I can exploit the Honda more because I’m so used to it now.

First off your RSX looks great. The CCC iDrive isn’t too bad, my E90 has it. Also, that sparkling graphite is pretty rare. One of my favorite colors, looks great in sunlight!

Those 135s are amazing dude. Haven’t driven the dc5, so I can’t compare, but the 135 is exceptional. My 2 cents, look for something ideal, and you just have to weigh how much shit like interior and options matter versus how much you like the car. I was looking for an e39 M5 or e46 M3 Convertible with a manual and no screen on the interior. I looked at a bunch, they all sucked, and then I found a really good M3, for a good price, but a hardtop with an SMG transmission. But I drove it, and I loved it. So I had my mechanic look at it, and he said it was really good. And I’m super happy with it. You just have to go with your gut, man. But honestly, if you’re looking for a used car, you have to write off shit like interior color, or you’re never going to find what you want.
